The assignment focuses on the assessment of soil conditions in the vicinity of the Artsvanik tailings facility, aiming to evaluate environmental risks and identify opportunities for land restoration.

Key activities and components of the study include:

• Preliminary landscape desk study:
Initial assessments were conducted to understand the geomorphological and environmental context of the area, forming the basis for targeted soil investigations.

• Soil sampling and laboratory analysis:
Systematic soil sampling was carried out to determine physical and chemical properties, contamination levels, and overall soil quality.

• Situational Field assessment:
A comprehensive evaluation of current site conditions was undertaken, including the identification of pollution sources and pathways.

• Environmental impact evaluation:
The study assessed the extent of environmental pressures associated with the tailings site and their effects on surrounding soils and ecosystems.

• Recultivation potential assessment:
The feasibility of land restoration was analyzed, taking into account soil conditions, contamination levels, and ecological constraints.

• Mitigation and management recommendations:
Evidence-based measures were proposed to reduce environmental risks, support soil recovery, and promote sustainable land use practices.

As a result, the study provides a structured foundation for decision-making related to environmental management, land recultivation, and long-term monitoring in the Artsvanik area.
